About this Blog

The title of this blog is adapted from the last line of the poem "Witness" by Denise Levertov:

Sometimes the mountain
is hidden from me in veils
of cloud, sometimes
I am hidden from the mountain
in veils of inattention, apathy, fatigue,
when I forget or refuse to go
down to the shore or a few yards
up the road, on a clear day,
to reconfirm
that witnessing presence.

Like the mountain in Ms. Levertov's poem, my hope for this blog is that it will itself be a witnessing presence to the beauty of God in all of His perfections. To accomplish this end, this blog will highlight Scripture, art and other areas where God's beauty has been made manifest. I hope that you will find that this blog encourages your soul, stirs your affections and fills your mind with the bigness of an awesome God.
